Sheet Metal Worker

As a sheet metal worker you will take simple sheets of metal and create, assemble, and install functional systems, including furnaces and ventilating systems or you may fabricate products such as aluminum sliding, metal roofing, or gutters. You can work with welding equipment and advancing computerized systems that are designed to cut, bend, or straighten sheet metal.



Training programs range 3–5 years.


A high school diploma or G.E.D is required for most positions. An apprentice or training program is typically beneficial for career growth and development. Training programs range from 3-5 years. There are many programs designed to prepare you to become an expert in your field and promote long-term success.
