Do you like things clean and precise, but enjoy getting your hands dirty? Do you like to work at a fast pace? As a Mason/Concrete Finisher you will work quickly take messy materials and transform them into a smooth, level, and defined work of art. You will be a part of building the firm foundation for a variety of needs including floors, walls, sidewalks, houses, dams, runways, curbs, roads, and much more. The possibilities are endless. You will build the firm foundation that sets the tone for Michigan’s infrastructure. 


 

A high school diploma or GED and possibly some additional training programs will prepare you to be a Mason or Concrete Finisher.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

A high school diploma or a G.E.D. is required for most training programs. Useful high school courses include math, shop and mechanical drawing. Training programs typically include 1-2 years and 3-4 years of on-the-job training.  Apprenticeship opportunities are a great option.     

 

 

Masons and Concrete Finishers make between $25,000 and $65,000 annually.
