1-3 years of classroom and on-the-job training will get you started as a heavy equipment operator


A bachelor’s degree is required to become an engineer. You may also want to pursue a professional engineering (PE) license.   Individuals interested in engineering should take advanced math and science course in high school. 



Heavy equipment operators make between $30,000 and $75,000 annually.
